Morning. Wow. That is a bright and flashy sunshine there!

hillflower I'm sorry about your chick, I am always amazed at how attached I get to them

Ok. So this morning Peg had her splint 1/2 off... Time to try again with part of a q-tip, just try to bend that!
1. At the noon resplinting I will try again for close ups of the hock.
2. I'll try to play with the legs of my healthy chicks to see if I can figure out this tendon thing.
3. There is a spot of blood on her hock, it is NOT from walking on it. This leads me to believe there is something worse going on inside.
4. She had a very runny poop... Apparently she's sometimes throwing a runny, every other time I've seen her they've been normal.
So I'm coming around to the idea that she may have a systemic infection, going to get some baby aspirin and call another vet who's a friend of mine as well to see if I can beg for a Buddy Discount for an xray and antibiotic shot. Maybe I can trade a full studio painting of her favorite dog for treatment?
Thanks for listening, my internal farmer/accountant is telling me to cut my losses and go for another hatch of eggs, and I have 6 beauties which is all I want to keep anyway.
But my chicken math calculator is already figuring out the possibilities of how many of them will be roos (= i can't keep).
My scheduler is telling me to fix the coop and the fencing, and tame the healthies while I can.
Glad you guys are here, my son just rolls his eyes at me, and my hubby smiles and nods but I know he doesn't "get" it.
BYC is the best.
