I could make it straight but it seems so much more painful and more stiff now than it was in the beginning to make it straight, and more swollen. She's been in the same splint all day today and it's staying on. She still won't put weight on it though. If I make it straight even if I'm not sure about the tendon would that be better than leaving a little bend?

Poor thing, I'm sad she had to be my experiment. She's already stunted in size compared to the others. But I put her back in the brooder instead of her hospital bed. She loaded up on food and I saw her drinking from the brooder bottle. She's always in a different spot in the brooder when I check.
Oh yeah, that was another thing. Charlie took a lot longer to grow, I thought that her growth had been stunted because of the ingury, but she caught up the others eventually.

Her leg will get more stiff each day. Charlie is 3 years old and she can't move her leg at all. Her leg is locked in place at the joint. Though if she has any chance at a normal life, you need to keep trying to force it straight. Each chick of mine cried because of the pain, and since yours is older, it will only be worse. Temporary pain is better than a lifelong deformity though. If you want to give it one more go, then force her leg straight one last time and use your fingers to massage up. Maybe by chance you will finally find the tendon. Otherwise, you may need to accept that she will forever be like this.

I came home to chirping and eggs that were rockin'. I'm hoping to see some external pipping tomorrow afternoon!!!

I think if two more hatch, especially if one of them is from the local eggs, I won't feel like this hatch was a failure. I guess I know any hatch that ends with live healthy chick(s) is a success, but I'd be happier if just two more hatched.

I am speachless 3D! Can your mom adopt me? wait I am older than your mom! oh crudbuckets of mealworms!
I doubt you are older than her. My oldest sister is 30 years old. XD She is very awesome. She didn't even consider money. She loves them nearly as much as I do. In fact, I am going with her today to pick him up at the vet. Apparently he is doing better, but is not eating on his own. I hafta teach him!

My parents would never pay for a vet. Not even for the dogs or cats. If something bad happens, I hope I will be able to come up with the money for it, but for now, everyone's fine. Luckily we really haven't had to deal with any disease over the years.

In fact, our dogs have never had rabies shots either.

But they are 7 and 8 years old and seem very healthy. The one thing I do worry about is heart worm, but I was told that it wasn't common in MN.
lol My dog has diabetes (he's a pig! Spoiled rotten by my parents. :/) and he is blind. and can't bark. They give him needles two times a day. Sillay dog.

But they love him, so it is worth it. He scares me though. XD
