did you guess "C" ?

I'd have to check, haha. I used the process of elimination and then just picked one from there. Actually, I know for fact that 2 of my guesses were C.

OK anyone know about silkies?

Here is what I have in my pen
White Roo over a white hen and 2 splash hens

I got blue and Idontknowwhat chicks!

I read some and they resemble a blue partridge silkie?????
it sounds like sometimes they turn all blue and sometimes partridge, so my white roo has a partridge gene?

I dont know what went on but I hatched six like this and they are so gorgeous!
The older one has turned alot more silver blue and he is about 2 weeks old now/

oh and here is black betty taking a food break from broodyness

I have pics of my baby chickies:

Bella <3

This picture reminds me of ducks swimming in the water.

HOPE! Look at that comb!!! I realized I can pick her up and her legs will not kick. I think she likes being picked up... Out of her cage. :3

This little one is a week and two days old. Male do you think? Compared to the second chick, I would think definitely yes, but he is much more calm and friendly than the other one. Basil (the other chick) always is picking fights and pecking Sophie (this one).^^^

Basil^ (FEATHERS! :O) Do you's think that these feathers looked barred? (as in the feather pattern) ...Hope's feathers were this long at this stage.

Hope around one week old. ^
Maybe Basil is just a very mean hen?

I hope so. I can't have a mean rooster.

Basil is the sassy and mean one. She liked to perch on my hand.

Sophie the calm and curious one.

Drinking while dust bathing. Tsk tsk tsk. :3

I think I want to get them one or two more buddies because Basil is so rough on Sophie, and I want Basil to have more than one chick to pick on, so Sophie doesn't go crazy from the pecking. Basil is always trying to get in Sophie's way. I think I will just buy the chicks this time- It is close to the time when hatcheries send out chicks to the feed stores anyway. Maybe I can get a black australorp or a sussex or maran. Those are breeds I really really want! :D

Quote: yup cooler bator for incubation and then styro for hatching both have fans and thermostats.
The coolerbator has no variance and its set temp and it stays for months now and I havent touched it! LOL
It is a "cooler" so humidity is pretty simple to adjust too!

They styro works well for hatching but I would love to make another coolerbator for hatching and get rid of the styro, the temps are just to finicky and sooner or later I will fry something!
KNOCK ON WOOD!

i have a temp of 101.3

perhaps i could save some electricity and move the eggs under me.
oz, do you have a sinus infection or did it get in your chest? What is the specialist taking for these illnesses???????? take care, cant take that crud home to the family!!
