What does everyone use to clean their bator and if you do, how long do you let it air out after? I cleaned mine out with a water bleach solution early yesterday and let it air out for about 2hrs and now it's warmed up & ready to set my new shipped eggs but is it ok if it still has a hint if bleach smell?

back in the day, when I was a wipper snapper nurse, we soaked baby bottles in bleach, pulled them out, shook them then filled formula and shoved them in a newborns mouth.

I clean the gunk out with water and white vinegar. Then everything gets bleached. Let dry or if going to be used again plug in and do not add water. I let it dry out and the smell disappears.

If you have any citric acid, make a solution with about quart of water and 1 T. citric acid. It dissolves the residue left by the bleach. (We make wine and that is what we have to do).

I know!!! I'm in love with it. Well they lady I got them from had 3 BBS Americaunas, one of each color and the Roo is either a BLRW or a Black Orp. So who knows? Looks like it might be blue to me. I don't think they were bantams but I should probably ask. Most of the eggs were small, I'd guess pullet eggs.
