it wont hurt

back in the day, when I was a wipper snapper nurse, we soaked baby bottles in bleach, pulled them out, shook them then filled formula and shoved them in a newborns mouth.

a hint of sodium hyptochlorite wont hurt

i always use bleach
Thanks oz, I figured it was all good but I figured I would ask the experts! This so my second attempt on duck eggs & the first ended horribly. Shipped eggs again but I have learned so much from everyone here and I'm weighing and installing a fan in my hovabator 1602 til payday when I am getting a hovabator genesis.
By the way I haven't heard anyone use "whipper snapper" since my grandma! Lol I love it!

how are all the chickies susan? getting nice feathering?
Hey Sally, yeah they are all feathery all over, I had forgotten how dirty feathery feet can get! Plus I have a little silkie that is darned cute that was escaping her home so she's staying with me, and some from the feed store and 2 that hatched from eggs I was given to eat but just stuck in the incubator! lol. Quite the crew I have. I have one that will lay on it's back in my palm and I can stretch her legs out straight, she just lays there! I have to try for a picture. Coop is going up this weekend (I Hope).
We try to get them out every other day or so for some sunshine and dirt eating, leg stretching etc. But without a covered run they are too easy to pick off by the hawks so I have to sit with them.. It's a tough job.

I'm so sorry about your HALO. You are an amazing nurse and caretaker.

I've been having trouble keeping up with the forums. I'm farmsitting 2x a day, dwarf goats (milking, and bottle feeding) and chickens and dogs and one cat that needs her cuddle before I leave. I'm exhausted and barely doing my own chores, but it's such amazing experience and training. I got to watch 2 baby goats being born on Friday, thank goodness everything went normally!

*yawn*. Now that the mystery egg has hatched I can hit the hay.

Halo has major swelling upper drumbstick, not eating had to give the tylan orally in dropper because he wouldnt eat the tiny pc of bread. eyes closing. I think he will go to sleep on his own tonight.

I am off....... be back tomorrow
