Momma broody has been doing a great job and today it's paying off!! One baby hatched and a few other have pipped!!!! So excited!

It's looking good to me! It has made itself a lil window as you can see. Went from zipping a line, to a square. The two that have hatched are fluffing out good, so I bet he is ready, just needs to get in the right position.


Awful pic, but it really does look like a window with 4 panes.
 
Huh, now it has the right idea, zipped 1/2 way around the shell, pushing hard, the others are cheering it on, but the membranes aren't tearing. There is a wide zip line with NO shell on it but the membranes won't budge. But so far I think this one will hatch on its own though. Thank you Jesus, I deserved a break from nature today! Now I will just sit on my hands and wait for those last 2 pippers to zip. (There is a chance they are blue laced red wyandottes

) The Olive eggers still got nothing, poor old guys.

YAY! I hope to have a broody someday! I always said I never wanted to keep a Roo, but the thought of being able to get hatching eggs from my backyard instead of across the country is looking pretty nice! What breed do you have, how many? Is that an oven mitt I see?
 
It's a coo coo Maran hen and a Delaware rooster. 2 have hatched so far six more to go. Yea it's an over MIT!! LoL she likes to peck my hand when I get close!!
 
It hatched!!!! (I know ya'll were waiting for the play by play update, haha) It is all black, so I think it had the black Orp roo as its Dad. A lil goopy, has that "whats up with its butt?" thing going on. But it did it! Whoo hoo, I love me a lil fighter!

How cool! Yes, I assumed that was what it was for. Sounds like a protective momma! So excited for ya!
