Ehh, I don't actually know. It's been a bit more than 2 weeks, that I know because I realised she's broody 2 weeks and 3 days ago and she'd been sitting already. We had some personal problems at the time that was distracting me and I haven't been paying attention to what the hens got up to. That's why I'm taking things as they come with these eggs and hoping we can work it out! I'll do a staggered hatch in the incubator if needed, but I'm hoping mom will keep the eggs warm until I got this batch hatched.

It will be interesting to see what that little bitty thing manages to do.

Have you found a new place yet?

great ebay supplier customer service

Dear dakogid,

I live in a very wet state, and we clean out there nesting area constantly. I try to keep everyone happy, so I ship extras. they will still hatch if the shipping didn't mess them up to much. They have a protective layer that keeps them safe unless you clean them. I have very clean, and really yucky eggs I purchased through ebay in my incubator, and everyone is coming along. However that is up to you. You could look into it on the internet before you throw them away. Thank you for your time

or you could just send clean eggs. two breeds. 1 extra egg. 50% are useless due to poop and mud - this seller practices reverse chicken math

oh no this is not the same woman that was mentioned on the easter thread?

I candled my repossessed eggs again and this time I was able to figure out what's going on in there. All but 3 are very far along, so I locked down. The other 3 are somewhere around 7-8 days I'm guessing, judging by the development, so I put back them under the broody for now. So the lockdown doesn't mess them around. I'll figure out what to do with them when these guys in the incubator hatched. I'm also waiting for momma hen to hatch some, so I'll have an idea how long she's going to stay in the nest.
ok sumi, now I am forced to go check and see whats under betty tonight, ugggggg are you sure she wont stagger hatch them if I steal fresh chicks from her

It hatched!!!! (I know ya'll were waiting for the play by play update, haha) It is all black, so I think it had the black Orp roo as its Dad. A lil goopy, has that "whats up with its butt?" thing going on. But it did it! Whoo hoo, I love me a lil fighter!

pics as soon as feasible! YAY CONGRATS!

I just went outside to feed the chicks, and I found that the brooder door was open and 2 of the chicks were missing! I quickly found one in a bag of bedding close by that was fine. The other one was next to a bush on the ground and unfortunately my dog heard it first... I jumped down the stairs to get the chick but my dog had already got it and it died.. Poor Cosmo!!! He was the silkie mix that was the first to hatch with this batch!!!!!!!

Don't blame your doggie chicca ok? It was his natural instinct.

i put 3 shipped eggs under my broody runner duck but i candled one of hers lastnight & they are 1 1/2-2weeks further along than my shipped eggs! so should i get them out right around when her hatchs due and put em in the bator or should i wait til hers hatch to get em out? i had no idea they were so far along when i put the 3 in there.
