@U_Stormcrow, since you recently dug up some grapevines, can you tell me what color their roots are?

I was digging near my grapevines, making a spot for the oregano. 2-3 inches under the surface were some tough roots that were orange. They're either grapevines, or from the apple tree that is 30-ish feet away.

We have plenty of mulberry trees, but none in that location.

Mulberry and gingko trees are what we call "F it!" trees. All the other trees are bare, or changing color, but these two are still green, even after several nights of frost. Then, at some point, those trees say, "F it!" and drop all their leaves overnight.

We have a bet about which will go first. I'm betting on the gingko, hubby has the mulberry.
