Diary & Notes ~ Air Cell Detatched SHIPPED Chicken Eggs for incubation and hatching

Hi. I just received 13 call duck eggs in the mail today and most have wiggly air cells and some have an air cell that is regular shaped, but wiggly, at the top and have a big dip down on one side. What should I do?

So if it were me and I only had one bator option I would leave the eggs I have sitting at room temp. You need to tilt the carton 3x a day like you would with turning(unless your aircells are really bad then no tilting). Then set either the day before or the same day. 7 days is the best range for viability.

i really want to make one too. i think iremember someone saying they had made a list of parts you need to buy and basic directions on how to makevit. was that u sally? if so i would love to get a copy of it!

Actually, it was referring to the peeps with tons of posts and time in grade here, not age. Heck, I'm 40. So? But that's exactly what I'm talking about. Some of you guys are just nasty to newbies. I wonder how many start posting here, see one of you snark at them, then never come back? Bra-vo.

Honestly, I think you are the only person that has taken long term offense by me. I know I upset 3D and silver - but they got over it and we have become great chat buddies. I really was not trying to rag on you. I hate my styrobators at the best of time. I was just trying to throw some positive things about them out there. If you take the time to read what I said - none of it was directed at you. It was general discussion.

Maybe its cultural, but I was born to give people a hard time and I expect a hard time back - all in fun of course. - and I have had a lot of fun with the old timer jab - both giving and taking.

For the offence you have taken, I sincerely apologize. It was not my intention to be snarky. I welcome all and will remove myself from this thread altogether if you feel you will be happier without me here.

You better not go anywhere oz! Im a newbie and You are one of my favorite people on this thread. I was on here when this all happened and I knew some of that about styro bators but some of what u said I didn't know and I had just ordered my new genesis so u helped calm me down! And i didnt see anything offensive in what u wrote just a healthy debate. I've learned soooo much from u and Sally and the other more experienced hatchers. Everyone needs to cool their jets, gotta take things with a grain of salt, nothing on chat threads should be that serious. A lot of big strong personalities on here and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Incubating not war!
