Ok. This one hatched last night it has this hanging out. Is it absorbing that?

It's not going to stay wrapped in a paper towel or in a cup unless its high enough to keep it in. It's very active.

But I did it. I put it in a styrofoam cup.

Wow you had a really rough hatch! I would wrap it in a wet warm paper towel and put it in a cup or bowl and back in the bator. Check it in a bit to see if it absorbed the rest.
Oh bless this is just awfull. I think your well coping. You bator looks awful. What a hatch. I hope your ok. You poor thing. That chick looks so sad and poorly. Hope he/she gets right and recovers from this Traumatic event. Good luck to you and your beautiful babies. I have my fingers crossed. Hugs

Just keep checking. active is very good sign. If it doesn't change any might need to tie it off. I am not an expert assistor the way Sally and Sumi and Cochins are so hopefully someone pops on here and tells us their opinions. Beautiful Buff by the way. I am kinda partial to orps and the golden babies are some of my favorites. They kinda sparkle like gold right after they hatch.

It's going to be here alone until after noon. We are heading to church. As for the buffs. I have a local that sells the eggs for 2.50 per dozen. I like them too. I'll probably do another batch after this one.

I have 14 healthy little babies in the brooder in the garage plus this one. Hope to add it to the brooder today and clean out that nasty bator. I've learned a lot with this hatch.
