Perhaps my streak of bad luck is ending?? I put 3 eggs into lockdown on Friday. I had my hatcher just a tad cooler than I had been running it. The past two hatches, I had 1 chick hatch out the day after lockdown, and the rest died... Yesterday late afternoon (5ish), I checked on them... Nothing. My bator is at work, so it's a little easier for me to stay hands off. This morning when I got to work, there was a chick hatched and dry, and the other two had pipped. The other to hatched out perfectly fine during the course of the morning! So that was 3 for 3 that went into lockdown!!!! Yay!!!!

I have another set of eggs going into lockdown on Wednesday, then my duck eggs on next Monday... Hoping for good results!

I am pretty mean myself but I am totally wrapped around his finger... they might disappear one day when he is in school. You know migration is mighty unpredictable with the crazy weather...

Oh my god! How do i get this chick to stop screaming every time i leave the room, i have hatched and raised lone chicks before but never had one this demanding, any ideas are very welcome

why you do this? LOL

you have to know what your air cells look like and candle and take your best guess.  I would candle and lock them all down in between times as long as there are no internal pips! stop turning them now though

Why did I do this? It's a kinda long story but the basics...I put 2 under my broody thinking she was no where near as far into her hatch so those had to finish in the bator then I set runners and calls not thinking that calls supposedly hatch after 26 days instead of 28 so if u don't believe in that then it's not as bad as it sounds. But I put em in the hovabator genesis and stopped turning this afternoon after I candled, no internal pips just lots o rockin! I also put them all on their sides since the air cells are solid. So if I stop turning isn't that the same a lockdown or are you saying to stop turning but don't up the humidity yet?

Does anyone know If u decrease 1* for lockdown in a genesis? I didn't see anything in the manual about it

Last thing i tried was the mirror, its now his new best friend a bit sad but will have to do until his buddy absorbs everything and pops out ;)
