I just candled and put 20 out of 24 ekfarms eggs in lockdown with an unnamed shipper who I got one egg from that was good out of 14. That egg is worth 45 dollars. I added water to the troughs and locked down 21 blue Laced Red Wyandotte shipped eggs. I had one or two that looked a little funny but I left them. I also candled another 41 eggs and removed 16. 12 of them were from one shipper who is making it up to me. The other 4 were from my Wyandottes. So I will lockdown 4 more Blue Laced Red Wyandottes tomorrow along with 21 of my eggs. I may have some Buff Blue Laced mix in mine as I have two buff Oprington Hens in the pen with my BLRW rooster and two BLRW hens and two Golden Laced Wyandotte hens.

It got to 89 here today. My house was above 80 when I got home and my bators were from 100 to 104. I turned the air on for the first time this year and went and celebrated my dads 76 birthday with him and when I got back. The bators that were supposed to be 102 were at 100. The forced air bators with the shell held the temp through the heat and through the cool down. I am going to have to watch and adjust all evening and most of the night in the other two with the new setting in the house.............................It never ends. Be glad when I pick up the project and get it working.

I am getting ready to put 11 geese eggs, 3 duck eggs and 5 turkey eggs in a bator as soon as it gets to the right temp and holds it.

I should add. I broke open all the removed eggs and no blood in any of them.

That would indicate unfertile right?

How was it 89 there and only 50 here. Freaky weather. Arkansas is not that far from Oklahoma. Sorry I am bitter about the cold. If the weather would make up its mind our bators would be happier. I had to turn mine up last night. Grrrrr

BlackBetty had only one chick with her at lockup, she turned and the other was dead stuck in her feathers crushed.

I took the other chick from her put in the brooder with the others she almost murdered and threw her back in the dungeon with the roo and the other broody. May the best CHICKEN WIN! I am so MAD, not even upset, just MAD and of course Harmony had to come in when I was pulling the darn thing out of her backside! RIP little mother natures chick   I DO NOT LIKE BROODIES! and after the other cochin hatches her marans I am taking them, ALL OF THEM!

Oh no!!!!! Do you think my duckie or other birds will do that if they go broody? I am def. raising the chicks on my own if my birds hatch any

Well, I went out to get the goose eggs and duck eggs and the goose was on the nest so I gathered some chicken eggs and just put 5 turkey eggs and 36 chicken eggs in a bator. I will move the turkey eggs to another bator in a week fill it with some shipped eggs I have coming.
