I've been on the road all day. Just got home. Moved chicks. Still two in bator and three eggs. Eggs didnt appear to have movement but I left them and will check in the morning.

The ducks are doing just fine. If you remember, they were all assisted hatch. And the next pick is my buff orpingtons from the nightmare hatch with 19 newly acquired Blue Laced Red Wyandottes.

Cody put them big end up in an egg carton. store in a cool dry place. I like to tilt mine 3x a day 45 degree angle. Make sure air cells are stable in yours before tilting that much. maybe a little smaller angle since yours are shipped. I have never stored shipped eggs before.

for your eggs working out.

Hi all,
So my eggs are still going in the incubator (just finished day 14) and I candled again, and of the 34 developing there are 3 that somehow ended up with the aircell down. All 3 of these eggs were particularly round, so I guess it's possible I put them in wrong end up, but I candled as I was putting them in... I didn't notice aircells on the wrong end at day 8, and didn't notice any of them rolling either.

I now have them all with the aircell up in the egg turner. My question is this: With it being day 14, is there a chance the chicks will still be able to get in the right position for hatch? Or are they pretty much guaranteed to pip the wrong end/not hatch at all?

Thank you for the reply! Again, this is my first time hatching so hopefully there will be slightly less panic involved in the future :) Hopefully it works out. I also have one that I thought would hatch today but when I candled to check progress, it looks like there is a sort of smear line on the inside of the egg in the air cell and there is no movement :(
I've had it happen many times, have always worried, and they have always hatched just fine. I know there is a possibility that they can drown, or not have enough room to zip, but mine have always been fine.

Hi Sally and Sumi and everyone else I've never met

Love your thread!

I love to hatch, and Sally invited me to drop in. I've got 42 goose eggs, 12 turkey, 14 chicken, and for some reason 0 ducks in 2 incubators right now.

Mind if I join you?
