Well I did it. I'm the owner of a young white broad breasted turkey. She's missing a lot of feathers and the ones she had were matted with poop, but she looks a lot better after a nice long bath and blow-dry. She's very sweet and curious. I really hope it works out.

Has anyone heard of turkeys spreading diseases to chicken? I know that chickens can give turkeys blackhead, but is there anything that goes the other way?

Hey sally I let my new shipped eggs sit for 24hrs but completely spaced on tilting them 45* on a book! Is this gonna mess them up and since they were pretty bad I wasn't going to turn them for like another 48 in the bator so should I get something under them now to get them angled until i start to turn?

It shouldn't and I don't think angle matters until after the wait period, but I could be wrong! I always set them flat and let them go until turning begins, that make sense or did I not read that right? lol

I am so happy, one of my older sons came to visit this afternoon, when he got out of the jeep sporting his work clothes I was even more thrilled! He took down three trees for us in an hour and half, and that was climbing, roping and cutting since they are all close to the house! I get so paranoid with all these big trees at the house! We have a big one just out side the bedroom window that must come down, but that sucker is HUGE! Dustyn said it would take him and another guy a full day just to drop it pc by pc safely. He will get it someday but I am scared to ask him. It is a real menace to me, you see they actually BACKFILLED around the tree at the house and its trunk has been buried for over 25 years! It now sits 8 foot under! seriously people are idiots!! What stinks too is that its our south east summer shade for the house
