Finally day 7 on my shipped Ameraucana eggs One leaking egg removed. Aircells split between saddles and floating, natural humidity here was between 22 and 27%. Inc. humidity had a hard time staying high enough but I couldn't know for sure how eggs were affected until I candled. Aircells were too large so I raised the humidity and will check later on in the week. All this has nothing to do with the packing method but happened in transit and I'm laying no blame as the transport of eggs is not their priority . Here are pics again of sellers packing method: Double boxed and solidly packed in.

Good luck with your hatch! I have lavender, wheaten/blue wheaten, and one really pretty hatchery Am with the wheatens, laying now. I'd be glad to share them with you

Already had 4!! Still nothing. They told me they might be taken back to the post office, I said why?? They said because they do have other deliveries. I said what the he77 does that have to do with anything. You said guaranteed by 3.!!! So you going to give me my shipping cost back. I will go postal on the postals if I have to pick them up in the morning and there dead!

Would be my luck! This is going to make for a loonnnggg night.

Any chance for a late delivery today? Can the driver be contacted by radio? Maybe you could meet them somewhere along their route?

This sorta thing happened to me on some chemo meds I HAD to received (refrigerated). They missed my delivery.

We agreed to meet up with the UPS guy en route. He never showed.
We/(DH and Mom) had to go to the main office in Mobile by 6pm to pick it up. Talk about mad and costing a bunch of money $$$ if we had to reorder!!!

We spoke with many supervisors, if they get behind, they have to skip some to catch up or some other malarky. Just think the guy forgot. This was a monthly injectable med, in new trial protocol. Insurance only paid so much, $$$ cost would have been 100% on us to replace had we not been able to get it that day in time.

What a bummer. Hang on and try not to go too postal.

I have so much to comment on, and just no time, so I've gotta ask a question. Today is day 19, (the one chick was just really early) I can not get my humidity up. It's at 42% and the bator is crammed full of water dishes with washcloths and dishcloths on the floor soaked. So much so that bitty baby has no chance of fluffing up at all. I seriously don't know what else to do! I'm out of room. Ironically, downstairs in the duck brooder (that is nice and dry except where the water sits) is at 54%.

I'm gonna lose it!!!

Now there saying they never came in today!! So called the breeder, said he will call me right back!

Just like that, he is gone. I last seen movement 6:20 am, went to do the chickens and came back and saw a little yellow red mark on the pure white at the bottom undersideish of the egg, I couldn't get him to move so I know he tried to pip and drowned. When I picked it up it was stiff and I pushed on the area and it was indeed his beak. I tried to get his beak out but I knew he was already gone. I wont tell the kid unless he asks. I had a feeling he wouldn't be able to turn because without the shell it was a tad flat . : (

He was nice and big and nice white under his chin too : ( What I don't get is there wasn't too much fluid, yolk wasn't all absorbed he just couldn't get those lungs to air. I am not sure I could have done anything for him but see what he does. It was exciting waiting and wishing for the little thing for sure. : ( I was up three times just to check on him last night. I know I am nuts. I felt bad too, because I have 3 turkey hatching and those buttons in there and they are being ignored. When they should be the exciting chicks! At least they are now! they have all my attention.

RIP Humpty, look how white that outer membrane remained though. I can say, I have no doubt if this little guy could have turned he would have lived.
