Quote: I suggest the wafer thermostat I get mine on ebay, oz uses a digital, both are listed in my coolerbator link in my signature below. the hot water heater thermostat we had was horrible, we had to have it basically TOUCHING the light bulb and even then had a 5 degree variance, the wafers have little to NO variance, set it and its there!

Ozexpat can explain more about the digitals, those you can find on amazon. he also has a link in his siggy!

TY everyone ...

tiny was the only rooster or chicken i ever really bonded with here so was not an easy night for me ... but i do have eggs in the bator ... and one could be a tiny junior we will see ... tiny was my first serema and i loved him dearly even when she turned out to be a he !!!
oh silver I hope they hatch! that's why I threw a few of the serama in from Pine Cone!

She was easy to get out. Took about two minutes. I did take my time, and she kicked and wiggled as I helped. Not clear on what the problem was. She seems fine. She made it this far. I don't see why she would have a problem now.
Here are pics of the other 2.
If nothing else hatches, 4 out of 12 is okay with me. For a first hatch, and using an LG still air (reportedly the worst for hatching) I am proud.

Shouldn't I be?
I will be sorry for the others, but not devastated like I thought I would be. Maybe I am too busy and too tired to feel bad?

Awesome! are her feet and neck ok?

NPIP testing was a lot easier than I imagined. The hard part was catching the birds. Serious workout. I had it all planned out as far as how to keep track of who was tested and who wasn't. So it went pretty fast.

My broody was the first patient from her coop. That girl is mean. She hisses and pecks. I needed armor to get her off her eggs. Waiting to catch her off her nest and will try to sneak a candle in. She better hatch something because I can't just go get chicks from somewhere to give her now.
I would have left them in the coop and grabbed them one by one, my broody I threw off the nest is also a mean one!

Sally, we leaving Friday, finally. I can't wait. We nearly lost chicken (I need a name!) yesterday. She got over the fence to the road somehow. I looked for her for about an hour and eventually spotted her and got her back to the coop. Such a relieve!
awol that should be her name LOL
