cochins opened up an egg that was a goner and there were too embryos ..for those curious without a weak stomach the pic is on post 15108
2 of cochins goose eggs are developing

i thought a saucy secreatary last night would be interesting Doug !!

dougs eggtopsy showed fully formed chicks with fluid around them and yolk sac.. he is clueless as to why
and the soda pop bator is giving him some maor issues

Tweetynpetey found a possible robins egg and threw it in the bator ... and has a teensy bit of rockin and rolling going on in the duck egg

and tweety made a first ever model horse western saddle and is hoping to sell it
oohh nice work it is too on the whole set - see post 15136

motorcyclechick opened the last two eggs and seems both had passed ...hoping that next hatch does go well for you !!

sumi apologied for being so quiet just in an irritating situation but is moving and will update us on Saturday probably.. good luck with the chaos and 7 hour road trip !!

cochins has promised to share the embryo drawing with us as soon as she can

Question of the day: I gave my broody 4 eggs 3 weeks ago. 1 hatched, the other 3 had fluid sloshing everywhere, and obviously nothing was gonna hatch out of them. I took them from her yesterday, but she won't get her big butt off of the nest. I do have food and water within the chicks reach, but shouldn't she be getting up and teaching this chick something? She has not been off of the nest AT ALL in 3 days, and just reaches over and eats and drinks the chicks food and water.
Sumi suggested giving the hen one more day

sally is getting rid of 10 of the ducks so one brooder will be clean ... the silkie lady is supposed to come tommorow
the turkeys are worse than ducks, the buttons stink .. and who else is with her on lockdowns ?!?!

We had a freak out last night ... DS was trying to be helpful and tried to turn the incubator down ... without asking .... because the temp was a little high .... he accidentally increased instead of decreasing .... i went in about 45 minutes later and just happened to stop by and check the bator ... 115 degrees !!!

i freaked out as these are the semi expensive eggs that are chicks DH really really really wants !!!! I got temps back down and believe it or not when I candled tonight all I had to pull was a question mark one that was clear a few days ago !!!

it stays that way ...
