The. Two are worse this morning. I syringe fed them again. If they are worse this afternoon, I'm putting them down. Is it seizures they are having?
I will throw a few things at for you as I find them, this came up 6 times at my first search! save a chick have vitamins in it? if not get some of those infant drops

Try giving her liquid children's vitamins and vitamin E.
Polyvisol Enfamil (without iron)—4 drops/day in beak for a week, then taper off

vitamin E with selenium—not to exceed 50 mcg
give ½ capsule for 7 days

That's what's happening. They tip over backwards.

I have problems myself! ugggg

GOOD and BAD~ One Cotournix has a pip YAY, and the uggg... I have two more eggs in lockdown for sara, one has a pip!

THE BAD.... One of the gorgeous Polish chicks I am giving to sara is weird, I don't catch it drinking and I try to give it electrolytes and it shakes them right out of its mouth! like it don't like wetness! suggestions? I am so mad I used the last of my grow gel with the button quail! This is the EXACT reason I suggest keeping grow gel on hand! even weak chicks tend to hold a little tiny ball in their mouth and get it down! uggggg she is a tad weaker and lays more than the others, I have a full house of kids today too, so I cant be holding her all day! This sucks! I noticed her late last night and slept on the couch next to the brooder, she eats and walks around but just isn't as strong as all the others in the brooder If you didn't know chicks well, you probably wouldn't even notice, but I do! she just isn't right! : (. and I am sure its the NOT drinking that's making her slower!! Harmony just put some wet feed in there, she took a piece or two. ugggg Mail order is the only way to buy grow gel that I know of! I am so frustrated!

so upset. One of my silkies died in the egg sometime yesterday. I am now down to 1 white one to hatch...I have others (the tan eggs). Yesterday I candles and it was beautiful dancing around. I went in to turn it last night and it felt odd... sloshy. So I did a quick candle and no veins. Distinct blood pool, and lifeless baby chick. Almost like floating in water...way too much movement of the contents.

No clue what could have happened. It was one of my better looking eggs. Decent aircell, active chick etc. Sigh.

In other news we are having trouble with court paperwork. Our custody letters were extended until our next hearing but the judge didn't issue them out to us so we cannot take the baby to the doctor or continue gathering evidence because I have no paperwork...so mad dash scrambling. The delivering doctor has very important information. He was going to fax me a certified letter stating his concerns for the child, his concerns about the parents mental/emotional state and the info regarding why the child was only released from the hospital because a relative of the father signed a safety plan with DFS. Anyway... long story short his secretary noticed the letter of custody expired and refused to send it. He called me last night and asked me to fax an updated one right away stating that I can not go into court without this as he feels it would be unsafe for the parents to even be given a few minutes of supervised visitation. So... today I will scramble to do these things. I had such plans for a slow paced relaxing day today...

To top it all I have been receiving multiple messages from people trying to "help" by making us aware of the drug use by the baby's mother during her pregnancy. It hurts me and makes me wonder why if they knew this did they not tell us sooner? Before the baby was born so we could have been prepared. But its ok. He's here now and that's what matters

Sorry for the non chick\egg ramble. Its all just driving me nuts.

Here's a WOW for you. This chick was assisted. It was bloody and yolk sack wasn't absorbed. It laid on a wet paper towel for a day without moving. I force fed it sav a chick for a day and it didn't move. Only breathed. I force fed it through the night and this morning and just now. It actually stood a few times when I set it down. No way this chick would live. WOW

Well, I'm officially wiped out, but I feel great! I cleaned all 3 coops, dusted everything (with my mask on), fresh shavings(just love that smell). To top it off we caught every single bird and did Ivermectin drops. I feel a great sense of accomplishment right now. The best part was that I came in with no mites on me, and everybody checked out okay. Won't be eating the eggs for a couple of weeks, but that's what the stock pile is for, right? Nite All! I'm going to bed!

I read so much on weather to eat the eggs after Ivomec It's a split. And I did read a lot. Some say you can eat them, but don't sell them. Some say wait 5 days and others say wait 2 weeks. I just can't throw away eggs. LOL I'm making pickled eggs with them. I guess I'll just be wormed. LOL
