Eggs went in bator at 99.5 yesterday at 99.5 but I came home today to a 115 degree temp.

. Just throw in the towel now or wait a couple of days to see if there is a miracle egg or two?

Oh, wait for sure. Miracles happen everyday, and hopefully it was just a quick spike that you caught early!!

Welcome back Sally.

To answer your question. High 20's to low 30's for the first 18 days. Although my bators are running mud 40's now with no water. Then up in the 70's at the end. I'm lowering the end. Adding very little water and maybe none next time depending on what happens here.

Ok. We've got to get this figured out. I lost another 13 fully formed chicks with exposed yolk sacks after lockdown. I think they drowned. I'm keeping humidity at around 30% the first 18 days and raising it at the end to 70 to 80%. Should I not add so much water at lockdown. I think I'm going to keep it lower. I'm going to post pictures. They are pretty graphic. When I open the egg, I can pour water out. They have plenty of air cavity. Only two out of 13 had internal pips. They all looked exactly like these pictures.

This is the only internal pip and it had water in the shell

Unless someone says differently, I'm going to keep my humidity lower at hatch time. All my unhatched chicks have been like this. I think it's drowning.

Opinions?

On a good note. I do have 16 or 17 new chicks and 12 out of 18 shipped eggs hatched.
20-40 for first 18days and 65 for lockdown has worked best for me

Wondering when to give up on these eggs. I haven't been weighing them but the air cells don't seem to have changed & they don't look any different :-(. The temps have been between 99.3-100.0 the whole time (the 100 was very brief but since I logged it I added it), the humidity has never been more than 45%. It has an egg turner. these were shipped eggs. What did I do wrong?

These are on day 10. I know the pics aren't great but shouldn't there be more development by now? I hope I'm just being impatient but I think my first hatch has failed.
Are these all of the eggs in there? Do you have any that are developing to compare to?

The air cells of my goose eggs have dipped down and I see shadowing!

They have begun the long, risky process of hatching. I'm so nervous yet I'm so excited! I can't wait to have goslings again!
Good luck! Hope the hatch goes well.
