YAY I uploaded!
Just jumped in after weeks of not...is she pregnant again Sally ?
I just delivered my last chi puppy to his new puppy parent Sat..(I cried and made a fool of myself Got too close babying him )
He was 13 1/2 weeks old ( over 3 months) and weighed 15.7 oz!!!
The tiniest (and last) puppy my Mini ever had in 3 litters.
He should be less that 2 lbs full grown Mini ended her puppy-dom with a tiny but cute bang.LOL

Hatching question for you all. As many of you know I am pretty new to this stuff. I know that on the 19th Day is Lockdown, but right now I am hatching eggs for my father and told me not to move his eggs into hatcher until they pip... Help, I don't want to hurt the chicks in the turner.. I will disobey my father

Dolfi..
just a thought Do they free range?
Could it be some red fruit or seed of some kind wild raspberry they are eating etc making poop red?

I just took a drink of coffee and got something in my mouth. I got it out. It was a fly. I threw it in the trash beside my desk and took another drink of coffee. LOL

To wash your mouth out? LOL I can't tell you how many times that happened to me. Flies are crazy here in Summer.

no the Muscovy are in since 17th, I think wed is lockdown or internal pips I will check at every turn now to hatch.
These other eggs I set are for my friend Chad, Some cots are for our next batch, these have 3 weeks until processing so the timing will make for empty pens for some new ones. Chad came and got some girls for his pens from my last hatch. do you know anything about chukar incubating and bob whites same as cots? I didn't look them up yet. I still want to hatch a peacock! just one though lol
Dont peacocks need mates? I thought they were lifetime maters.Just asking.

You never know with chicks, they may hatch early. I'd move them when I lockdown. Besides, after you locked down you should not open the incubator, especially when you have pips...

in the philippines my humidity is 82% most days. Highest is 88%

Inside the incubator I get 50% with a mini dehumidifier and 55% if I dont run the dehumidifier.

I have lots of losses due to wet chicks. Its unavoidable but a statistic I have to live with,
It is 97% humidity here today. It is about 70 degrees outside. Yes you feel quite wet and gross when you go out side. Makes for a really really bad hair day too. Our only saving grace to this is central AC.

You can wait until there is an internal pip to lockdown but you need to candle often to watch for them when it gets close to pip time. It is a lot easier to just lock down and walk away on day 18. I would stop turning them as they are positioning themselves for hatch and then candle frequently.

LOL if they are his eggs and his instructions by all means I would never disobey my father! Just make sure you have them so you can see the pips! AND that you have time to keep checking for pips! If not in a tray lay them lower dip in aircell up so you can see when they do pip and get them into lockdown asap. Its not unusual to hatch that way, it sounds like your dad hatched before? I do this for waterfowl.
