awwwww when I go to open the image it says no image but I see it posted! weird AGAIN!

Here are pics of my 10 days short of 7 week old Hertiage Delawares. And let me tell you the roos already are seeing who is king of the yard. I don't mean chick chest bumping either. One even got a little blood drops around his face. I figure they will settle it.

They are beautiful!!

I think I've found another breed to add to my "chicken wish list"!!

So I'm locking down my shipped Wyandotte eggs tonight. -I set them on Friday 5/31 in the evening, so I think it's day 19- I started with 18 and have 9 going into lock down (my last batch form the same person had only 3/15 make it) I see them wiggling, but no peeping yet. I've had them in the egg carton the whole time, and all the air cells have re-attached. Is it ok for my to lay them down for hatching, or could that be causing some of my mal-position issues?

As long as the air cells are not moving they are fine to lay down. If they are not in the right position now they are not going to be.

And did you know that the Delawares are on the endangered list. They use to be the meat birds of the US back in the early 1900's. Until the nasty Cornish X's came about. Then everybody really had to switch to compete in the meat business.
