I would love to hatch my own eggs but the chance there's a chance there would be a roo also, were having enough stress and difficulty from the new black rock I just bought.

Hello, sqwaks... you can always take them to auction or post them on CL or on a facebook site???

The Marans chick is out now, but I am worried. I see a greenish tinge in the base of the egg and I am trying to decide if its belly looks swollen

And the navel isn't fully closed, but I don't know if I should mess with it or let it dry out a bit in there first.

if in doubt, put some antibiotic ointment on the navel and lay it on a damp paper towel and leave it alone. That's what I do with any in question.

oh no! how is he today?

Well he's 16 and just got a truck so he's working to make money to fix it up so that when he's ready to drive it will be ready .so he gos on his first job without his dad .my husband told the guy "he's a kid he dont know nothing he's just lurking so remember that" 15 min after he started the guy brings him back with wrapped fingers so we take him to the hospital he fractured the tips of two fingers lost most of the skin on both of them and a finger nail the doc said if infection sets in the bone he could lose them so we are waiting! Found out that they had a cement mixer going and when it started to fall over he told my son to catch it and my son who don't know better did as told thank goodness he was wearing gloves or he would have lost both fingers so the guy takes him in the house cleans and bandages it then says lets go finish the job my boy said take me to my dad so now we are waiting.im very angry !

I changed the bulb hope it helps
