Are you getting temps back up? It is really hard in a still air to tell what the temp is in an egg because they get hot and cool spots. If you have been moving eggs around (position in the bator) and not just turning and they look like they have developed fine up to this point you are probably fine. Best thermometer for checking temp at the top and bottom of an egg is a probe type. Fingers crossed for your eggs
I do get the temp back up. Thanks!

Hey all, I want you to meet one of the best lessons I've learned so far in incubating: Don't give up on and cull eggs that you're not sure of and ones that candle clear at day 10! Meet "Surprise!" number 1, 2 and 3. Number 4 is still working on getting out of the egg:

I really didn't know what to think of these guys when I candled. Day 6 - clear, day 10 - clear, day 16 - cloudy mass, no veins, day 17 - bigger cloudy mass, no veins, day 19 - 3 internal pips and day 20 - 3 happy, strong little chicks.

Awe!!!!!! Congratulations Sumi!!!

Hey everybody, long time no talk!
I guess I should inform you guys that I have away aqua and moe and Cappa and Joey this summer, along with Cappas three chicks Java,Mocha, and Peanut. But I gave them all to my good friend who lives on a farm who I also ave Pluto and Nemo to many months ago and has a nice large chicken flock.
However, I am going through Bird-Withdrawl and I think I'm gonna hatch some more. Probably a duck or something, maybe a quail or even a dove or pigeon! Something neat and challenging. Do you guys think it's a good idea? :)

Wow! Time for a brighter light??? LOL! Congrats!!

I agree, I do need a better candling light! It was just really strange that I couldn't see veins at all? I usually see veins pretty early on, especially in white shelled eggs, like these ones. They were completely clear though, until the cloudy mass showed up. I'm so glad I didn't toss them!

I would avoid doves and pigeons. It's much more difficult to raise them. When my fan-tail pigeons abandoned their nest, I stuck the eggs in the incubator for the night and then drove 2 hours to deliver them to a pigeon pair willing to sit. It's best if they're raised and fed by the parents.

Are you just looking to hatch? Or do you plan on raising birds again?
