Awe!!!!!! Congratulations Sumi!!!

Hey everybody, long time no talk!
I guess I should inform you guys that I have away aqua and moe and Cappa and Joey this summer, along with Cappas three chicks Java,Mocha, and Peanut. But I gave them all to my good friend who lives on a farm who I also ave Pluto and Nemo to many months ago and has a nice large chicken flock.
However, I am going through Bird-Withdrawl and I think I'm gonna hatch some more. Probably a duck or something, maybe a quail or even a dove or pigeon! Something neat and challenging. Do you guys think it's a good idea? :)
go with ostrich

I agree, I do need a better candling light! It was just really strange that I couldn't see veins at all? I usually see veins pretty early on, especially in white shelled eggs, like these ones. They were completely clear though, until the cloudy mass showed up. I'm so glad I didn't toss them!
They are so cute! That is pretty weird to not see anything. Even when my light is needing new batteries I can usually still see something in my brown eggs. Awesome. I am going to think twice about tossing now.

If I had a pond I would try swans, they can sell for quite a bit once fully featheted

I'm thinking of doing a bit more hatching and boosting the local chicken population a bit. This place needs more chickens. Even if it's mutts

Ugh! So, pretty sure I have to cull my new CCL roo - also discovered I bought a CAE positive goat from my best friend. I guess this is going to be a dark weekend around here :'(
Oh crumbs, I'm so sorry. I saw your post about the roo when I checked in earlier and then with all the hatching excitement clean forgot about it. I meant to follow and see what's going on. Did you find out what is wrong with him? Is there nothing you can do for him?

I think I could probably get him better. But then whatever it is he'd be a carrier. In which case I can't add him to my flock and I don't feel right selling him either. I would give full disclosure, but really who would want to get a bird that they knew had been sick and could still be a carrier and could get sick again any time and sicken the rest of the flock?? My friend doesn't even want him back now - who would??

I'm so sorry you're going through this

How awful. You're like me, you know, rather treat than cull. But this situation has more cons than pros, unfortunately. You are going to have to be so careful if you keep him, to make sure it doesn't spread. I posted some links on your thread you started on him, with more info on Coryza, if this is what you are dealing with. I'm not 100% sure. If it is you can treat him, Tylan 200 is good and you can treat it with Sulmet. Good luck, hey!
