Okay, so I wanna build a small Serama coop for my lone Serama roo, Tweet, and this is a conversation I had with my mom:

*Just finished explaining my plan for a mini coop*

Me-So mom, Tweet is gonna be lonely in his coop, and I want to start showing my Seramas, and Tweet has a few faults, but I think his babies would do good.
Mom-Well who are you gonna breed him with?
Me-Well, we can get him a few pullets.
Mom-From where? No hatcheries sell them.
Me-Well, I'm sure some BYC-ers have some for sale.
Mom-Okay, tell you what. If you successfully build Tweet a coop, you can get some girls for him.

SO I AM DETERMINED TO BUILD A GOOD COOP FOR HIM! Lol.

Chickens are social creatures and they do much, much better in groups. Have you looked at the Coops section yet? There are some really nice coops and plans there to inspire you.

Tweet needs a coop, Tweet needs a coop, Tweet needs a coop

Coops don't have to be fancy or any particular shape. fencing to keep predators out and a few walls to keep cold winds out in winter. When I was a kid I helped my dad build my rooster a coop that was rectangle shaped and it was enclosed on one end on 3 sides and the top. Had a roost and the front opened into the enclosed run. Very simple but effective.

Tweet really does need a coop.
I want it to be simple, yet fun for him, not just a simple wooden box with a door.
I may attempt this one.

Good morning everyone! Woke up to 5 external pips (one on the wrong end of the egg) and 1 internal pip. The other 2 eggs, including the plastered one, is quiet still, but it's only the morning of day 21, so I'm still hopeful

Chicks are still busy, we're up to 4 external pips and 2 zipping. In the meantime, the cat climbed into one of the kids' clothes cupboards early this afternoon and did this:
