Oz, how is everyone on your farm? I have been hearing all of these disturbing things on NPR and I can't stop thinking of you and your family and your water buffalo.

I don't know a lot about that area, but I would imagine that there are a number of people who rely on their poultry flocks to feed their families and that a lot of those people in your area might have lost their entire flock. I don't have money for aid, but if you know of anyone who could use some hatching eggs to boost their flock, let me know and I will send you a few dozen from birds that do well in the heat.

My family as well as Bernie's family are doing fine.

We are planning a chicken mission for March (no-thyphoon season). The incubating 100 eggs I lost in the typhoon were to become part of the trios that I will give away.

I am flying over in 8 days and have my eggs already organized but I will surely take you up on your offer for close to Christmas.

I may just start incubating everything I can to give away.

Anyone is welcome to join us on the chicken mission also.

That is a beautiful duck. Definitely a call with that bill, but the colors are stunning. If you put up a poster, might I suggest that you NOT put her picture on it. That way you can ask any callers to describe what she looks like. You never know what kind of people are out there, someone might just call in a bogus claim in order to get a free duck or worse- a free duck dinner. Could she be a he? Those legs are awfully bright orange. This would be the time of year where some drakes would lose their curly drake feather, but I am a scovy person, I don't know much about quacky ducks.

I'm pretty sure that she's a girl. She doesn't have any drake feathers and she quacks. I also have a butterscotch call drake in a cage next to hers and he seems interested in mating.

It sounds like she's a pet quality call duck. The butterscotch calls that I bought from the show 2 weeks ago are a bit smaller and their bills are half the size of hers.

If I do put up a flyers, they will not include her picture. Thanks for the reminder.

I wish I could join that mission!!!!! One day in my life I will be able to spend money, ONE DAY!!! I would have a ball, but this gal number one cant afford to miss a days work either. I am sooooo tired of having to do stuff without cash, just once I would like to go buy nice stuff! I love my Craigslist and FB yard sale groups, but by God one day I will actually go on a shopping spree just for me! My mom came today and I was folding wash, of course she started helping, she picked up my sock and said is this the dogs? I was like no that nasty old thing is one of 6 pairs of socks I own, and it may be stained from me running without shoes all day but it "ain't gots no holes"!!!! I simply told her I would sooner spend on the kids and stuff than on clothes for me since I rarely ever leave this house and if I do its groceries and superstore. And its socks who sees them anyways? I dont invite my neighbor over to fold socks with me.

She then proceeded to FOLD THEM!!!! My WORD MOTHER! Life is way to short to be folding socks!! She also realized that the divorce rate for socks in our home is quite high, and told me I need a buddy system. SAY WHAT!!! DARN she was quick with that! I love Mother <thumbs & pointers into heart>

Sally, I have to say that whenever I'm having a crazy day and I am feeling like I can't slow down, I come on this thread and read your posts and a smile starts to creep across my face and that knot in my stomach releases and I feel so much better. You're such a tonic.

i have came to the conclusion that the same ghost that spills stuff on the floor and doesnt clean it up - uses the toilet and doesnt flush it - drinks the last of the milk and puts the container back in the fridge - lives in the back of the cloths dryer and steals socks.
