i wanted to make a correction to the $400 fee for PA, Mike and i were talking about commercial flocks and not backyard flocks - according to sally it was much cheaper for her.

Brian did you see our recent conversation and info posted on larngotrac? head back to when I started posting again, we have several links listed too. This is what started the worry over live vaccines thanks to Coch bringing to my ignorant non medical brain!

I need to research it again.

From what I remember, the tissue culture origin LT vaccines and the chicken embryo origin LT vaccines will cause vaccinated birds to become carriers, potentially exposing unvaccinated birds.

Recombinant LT vaccines will not cause vaccinated birds to become carriers, but they are harder to obtain (most require veterinarian license).

getting prescriptions for the chicken's isnt a problem.
i maintain my hatching/chicks separate from my chickens - and i cannot find for certain if its passed through the egg. I'm going to be really upset if i have to dispose of a whole barn full of chickens over this. the loss from the illness was bad enough. im down to one legbar hen with no roosters, no usable basque rooster i have some coming but no breeding until may, no salmon faverolle rooster, no partridge rock rooster, buff orpingtons i went from 12 to 2 with just a couple young ones in the brooder. i had 3 light brahma roosters that i had sorted and kept as a replacements - i ate their dad, i wish i hadn't now.

I need to research it again, but I will say that I haven't seen anything that says that LT is transmitted through eggs and I've read a lot of articles.

It's spread by infected birds, carrier birds, and infected equipment or clothing.

I have no chicks lol so no
