its quail hatch day at cocobeach. 60 have hatched so far!

there are another 50 pipping.

this will be a good test of the dehumification experiment as i basically sealed up my egg room and am running a small room dehumidifier at 45%. its pulling 3/4th of a gallon of water out of the air a day. normally we lose a good chunk of our chicks after internally pipping. they are too big and soggy to get out

congrats Oz! That sounds wonderful. Quail are on my want list but right now there are way too many chickens!

Congrats, Oz! Wow, that's a lot of quail... Maryhysong, your avvie reminded me, we had 2 new arrivals on the farm this week, happened 2 days ago:

Awww..they are so cute! I'm wondering if we are going to have kittens soon. I have a Himalayan that is about 6, who has never had kittens, she's strictly indoors. BUT over the past couple of months I felt bad for her being cooped up so every now and then I'd let her out for a stroll....IDK, but she's been looking extra healthy and plump lately?? I guess time will tell.

had to share from PA thread! I need these!

Awesome! I hope the dehumidification experiment proves to be successful.
