I do it based on what I ordered.

if my average hatch is 22% and I want 40 chicks - I need to start with 200 shipped eggs

woo I guess than that I have a 25% hatch rate. Lol

So I've got 5 babies and one still zipping! No action from any of the other eggs so I will let the one finish up and then get rid of all the others! I have a bunch of "mutts" but I'm so excited! Can't wait to set my second batch!!

I went on my morning feed, water, egg run to all the chicken pens, I cant get through any gates!! Not only frozen latches and hinges, but the entire gates are stuck to the ground in the snow and ice! I cant dig them out!! What a site in the pouring down feezing rain!! I have access to the front of the layer coop and the White faced Spanish but the Brahama are on their own until Daddo takes the digging iron to them! Good Grief!
