This hatch is the first time I have weighed the eggs.previously I have always just trusted the incy .
My weight loss varies from 9 to 16% so I am hoping they are ok.
Interestingly though the green eggs are all nearer the 9 or 10% end, while the brown and white eggs are higher with 13 - 16%. Is this because the green shells are thicker? Or just coincidence? Has anyone else noticed this?

having hatched eggs from 20 different sources at once I can speak a little on this as well as a bit more lol

I find that most eggs from a particular batch act the same way. It does not always follow that eggs with blue tint are always the slowest but the shell densities seem higher.

When it come to hatching, when the incubator is appropriately tuned, I find most eggs from the same batch will hatch within hours of each other. My last batch - 6 blues came out in 3 hours and after a four hour break, 7 marans did their thing. Dispersed amongst them were 8 other chicks from varying batches.
