Here are my shipped eggs! I'm picking up a dozen local ones tomorrow and will start incubation in 24 hours from now!
This is exciting. Since you're in Az you will hopefully not have the humidity issues we have been fighting. Fingers crossed for your egglets.

It is a top view; #5 looks the worst. From what I could see I didn't find any saddle shaped air cells. Some were pretty porous I am anxious to compare with my local eggs because to be honest even after studying alot of pictures on this site of candled eggs I still am a little confused of what a good egg vs a bad egg is. They were packaged very nicely though with foam stuff surrounding each individual egg.
When you smell something funky then you will know it is bad.

Give them about 5-7 days and then candle and you will be able to see which are growing and which are clear.

On Feb 1st Bernie set 33 eggs. It is now the morning of the 25th. We have 31 hatched with one pipping.

Ladies and gents, we are at 91% on local eggs.

Hatch dates for the eggs set on March 1 will be very exciting.
Woohoo! Awesome!

Sally, so that hen we never got to tell the breed has been laying one day yes one no, for the past month or so she was an egg a day. Today she's been sitting in her nest all day. This is great but I have all her eggies in the bator and she has nothing under her. What should I do. Don't want to risk putting the eggs under her and that she is not really broody. How do I know?

Here is the nomination form to nominate for BYC friend and BYC Spirit awards

It can be done quarterly.

Its a nice way of recognizing those who put effort into this site.
Good reminder, Oz! I try my best to nominate members, but we can only do 3 each month for different awards and there are many members here that deserves some recognition. The next batch are due end March/beginning April.

Woo-hoo! I just candled. It's been 72 hours and I see blood rings approximately the size of a dime with little embryos with beating hearts in the center.

I don't see anything in the black cochin bantam eggs yet... and the yolks are awfully loose... I'll leave them in for a couple more days, but I don't think they're fertile.

That's wonderful! Hope the Cochins will show some sign of life soon.
