I read the articles on the Cochin's International website. They were very helpful. The male will release after 1 or 2 firm strokes across the back.

I just spent 45 mins trimming butts. That was just one coop. My arm feels ready to fall off. Hoping to get better fertility rates now.

It took me 30 minutes to trim the butt fluff of my pair and it didn't even help.

I can't imagine trimming a coop full of birds.

that is about what I need to get thru the fluff. I only trimmed the ones I was most interested in getting fertile eggs from. I decided the others were not worth the hassle. I need to tackle the other coop but going to have to wait as winter is taking one last swipe at us this weekend. Freezing rain, sleet, and snow.

I need a better trimming device. I was using wire cutters as that was what was handy at the moment. My hands are too small for them. I need some good scissors or something.

I just took another small bunch out, I think there are four left to zip, I left quite a few in the bator to dry off, but I have these in the bucket heading to brooder and then the brooder image (brooder has a trio of week old CCL in it as well) I will set up two more brooders and separate tomorrow, does them good to cuddle and fluff each other up right! ha !

Harmony is sorta sad, only 4 serama hatched I do pray she gets two roos that are decent

You see how these WFBS are, as strong as they are a Breed, they are strong as heck as embryos and chicks! amazing!
