So mad, all our Black Polish "Rhonda" x CCL roo/s eggs are inferts! she is rejecting these roos!! All others are fertile! I put a few more in just to check again!
She is still mad I took her out of the WFBS pen would be my guess!!

Coch lets blame it on the hen, its all her fault!!!

Good luck! I used to have a hen that was dominant over all the roosters. She would never allow them to mate her.

The struggle with fertility continues here. The call ducks finally began laying, but out of 11 eggs, only 1 was fertile. What are those males doing out there? Obviously not their job.

I actually cleaned and sterilized all the reg coolers this morning, then I started to feel really weird and very sleepy, I slept all afternoon and evening! Not sure what is wrong with me, I had to do all my housework a little bit ago. hate when I have to do that stuff before bed! I feel like I lost a day!

who has faverolles that can tell me anything about them? the ones DH got are blue salm favs and I just set them. They are very pretty birds

Quote: she is a real beach!!! let me tell you, I swore I wouldnt let Harmony get any other polish, and the tolbounts went to sara at hatch! ha haha
she actually comes to me for food now, but wont hop up like the old spoiled hens...

I'm using 3 boys for breeding.

Michael (black cochin bantam) is 10 months old.
Rocky (silver laced cochin bantam) is 1.5 years old.
Dash (butterscotch call drake) is 3 years old.

I also threw in a couple of the LF cochin eggs. Tom (the rooster) is nearly 7 years old, yet his eggs are the only ones with 100% fertility. Go figure.

Weird. I hope you're feeling better now.

I don't know anything about salmon faverolles, but they're very pretty.

I was invited to talk to a school about incubation. They're hatching duck eggs for Easter.

It'll be 1st through 6th graders, so it should be fun.

The medicated is all my feed store carries, unless I want to drive 25 minutes to tractor supply!

After this bag is done, I'm going to switch to flock raiser, got ducks and geese coming later this spring, so it'll be better that way.

Cool! What breeds do you plan on getting?

They're horribly messy, but I love my ducks and geese.
