I was invited to talk to a school about incubation. They're hatching duck eggs for Easter.

It'll be 1st through 6th graders, so it should be fun.

I only keep a few of each because of how messy they are, but they're definitely worth it.

I finally got my thermometers from Incubator warehouse.

Put them in the bators and they are awesome. Show temp changes almost instantly. So throwing my collection of eggs in tomorrow. So we will see in about 7 days if fertility is any better. Either way I am done hatching mine but will probably get some shipped after this.

I swore off using medicated feed. I changed feed stores after my regular people retired (the nerve of them ha!) and never checked the tags on the bags they put in my truck. I have been fermenting it just fine. Birds are chowing down on it. Guess I will keep on doing it. I will keep fermenting until it gets too warm in the garage.

medicated just normally means amprolium

I actually cleaned and sterilized all the reg coolers this morning, then I started to feel really weird and very sleepy, I slept all afternoon and evening! Not sure what is wrong with me, I had to do all my housework a little bit ago. hate when I have to do that stuff before bed! I feel like I lost a day!

who has faverolles that can tell me anything about them? the ones DH got are blue salm favs and I just set them. They are very pretty birds

What's amprolium Oz? If I get chicks to hatch, shouldn't I buy medicated chick food?

Coch, what is the March 4, 2014 chick picture about on your pictures? Is that a yolk sac? What happened to the chick?
