I was thinking brahma, but didn't want to be wrong! He's a handsome fellow!

I found something pretty cool about chicks......

I had two week olds in one clear tote and had just hatched in the tote right at them, so chicks were hanging out at same ends of totes,
anyways as I sat and observed all the chicks I noticed every time the big ones made a fuss and got up to eat and drink it stirred the new chicks to get up and do the same!
Its almost like they were teaching them what to do! I thought at first I was seeing things but then I sat for almost 45 minutes in observation, and they did it over and over!!

Not sure anyone cares, but I am glad I thought to search out these totes!
so much better with a view I am sure, the poor chicks!! I hate brooding them for more than 2 weeks, but sometimes people ask me to hold as they are making long trips,
current brahma will remain with us for almost 2.5 weeks because they will be driven to Florida! Then in May I will hold more for a gentleman driving from SC.
Its so cool to see how far people will drive for rare breeds!

A customer sent me an image of one of their chicks from us!

Look at the blue splash!! nothing like one we have yet!
looks to be female, but typically the hens are a cream and orange like, with some blue at the neck, this one he said is light blue all over!
Now I have to grow out more, must be the new blue splash partridge roo I added!

My HRIR's are starting to hatch. 5 hatched and what I can see 5 more coming. I noticed one of my bulbs burnt out.

I swore I wasn't going to open the door this time till they were all hatched. Should go ahead and change it really quick. I'm afraid the other one might blow out trying to keep up with the heat.

Didnt pull a single egg at candle!

GO CHICKIES, only one internal so far in a SF!
GO BATORS GO!! I am so happy I could SCREAM it couldnt have worked out better! SERIOUSLY! YAYYAYYAAAAY!!
