Not hatching anything at the moment, but this summer definitely. Mostly just browsing around, brushing up my knowledge, you know. Getting ready.
So excited for my first hatch! I've raised chickens for years, and not once yet have I hatched my own. Definitely can't wait. :)
awesome! we are here when your ready! will you hatch your own eggs?

Nah, I don't have any chickens at the moment. Had to give them all away before moving off to college. I'm transferring somewhere close to home now, though, so I'll be starting up again soon.

Day 14 is technically tomorrow but I candled tonight as I had some peace and quiet in the house... FOR MY NOTES, Silky Duck: 9 remaining from clear pulls are all viable and amazingly veined & active The loose air cell has reattached and is strong when layed sideways. (WAS IN TURNER from set!) Silky duck air cells are starting to finally get bigger! Two are sorta small I think, but I am working on them! I started quickly sponging them with a warm damp sponge about 6 x a day , perhaps overkill, but its actually working! I AM NOT cooling eggs at all, I sponge them as they sit in the tray and then close the door. NOTES: I have NOT washed cuticle off, just dab with sponge, nor have I sanded them. I am running dry in the cabinet bator as I have with all other eggs that have been hatching. Room humidity range 15%-22% If they were chicken eggs and looked this good at this point I would say "I got this in the bag" but knowing the issues with weight loss I wont count my duckies yet! Prayers for these little sweeties! @Gardeningmama @chicksooner @cochins1088 But look at the nice veining!! beautiful! everyone of them!
Go duckies go!!

I spot weighed a couple of eggs and those eggs were at about 10%, so the drier humidity seems to be working. :yiipchick

I can't concentrate at work! I'm thinking chicken all day long. Cant wait to meet the little fuzzy butts!

Ahh, what a wonderful morning, two hatched chicks and one more pip! Still 6 eggs after that...when the two that are hatched are all fluffed I will move them to the brooder and check the other 6 eggs quickly to see if they pipped internally.
