I have chicks due today or tomorrow, I heard chirping last night, guess I better go see LOL! Its freezing in the house this morning with every window open! I just wanted coffee and bundle up with my four springers and a big cup of java! lol

I'm going to candle on Wednesday (day 10) and then on Friday (day 12) and if nothing I'll be ordering some more egg's and tell her what i want to the letter this time. the mornings are so nice here but the rest of the day really bites with the heat we have been having but i should be done with the ducklings outside brooder sometime tomarro or the day after and then i get to sleep at night again yay

I WAS WRONG! I WILL ADMIT MY WRONG FOR SURE! I HAVE A PHEASANT EGG IN THAT WAS ROLLING END TO END, THIS EGG WAS IN ALREADY IN MY TRASH AND I HAD A THOUGHT AND FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME DECIDED TO SET IT IN THE BATOR UPRIGHT AND DO A UPRIGHT TWIST OF THE EGG, NOT TILT, AND I WILL BE DARNED THE THING IS ON DAY 14 HEALED AND GOING STRONG! MY BAD, VERY BAD, I NOW KNOW IT CAN BE DONE, WAS IT THE TWISTING? IDK BUT THE SUCKER IS ALIVE AND KICKING, I HAVE BEEN AMAZED SINCE I CANDLED FIRST TIME DAY 7! I DIDNT WANT TO BRING IT UP FOR FEAR IT WOULD PASS ON ME, SO I WAITED TO MAKE SURE ITS STRONG!


So I cant do anything fancy including uploading images, my toolbar is mia yet again! I dont have time to mess with this site, not sure why it always happens hear!


I just read everyones posts and as I am trying to quote and attempt to fix the issue I cant even remember all I read! add bouncing a baby cutting a tooth on my knee and brain is shot!

Also must apologize and warn, in the summer its chaos here on the bonanza, school is out and I babysit, need I say more! Internet time is NOT on the daily schedule, I will attempt to get on each eve before bed though!

I set eggs weekly and hatch every Sunday and Monday, in addition to our orders we have the silky duck in as well as some pheasant going strong! kids will love the chicks and the ducks, its time the ducks leave my garage though as they are starting to make a mess! They are very small ducks, I had no clue how tiny they would be, so I am not sure what I will do with them to protect from hawks! I dont want to loose them they are amazing little things!
 
Well, poor Nugget... The hatch went horribly for her. Dead chicks everywhere... Some never made it all the way out of the shell, some were out and looked normal, but were just dead. She does have 2 live and seemingly healthy chicks out of the 13 eggs. I wonder if they were the 2 that didn't fall through the bales....

Day 14 duck tomorrow. I shall return to post update after weigh in, thank God its Friday tomorrow, its gonna be a looooooong summer!
