HarmonyANN finally got six serama eggs!!!! I have put some in for the past few weeks to check fertility, first batch had some clears, next batch only a few, and I will have her sharpie more and add today to make sure we got good fertility, she has one heck of a list for her chicks and eggs!

If anyone knows anyone with SQ polish please inform! She wants to try another project, and even though I dont want to build a new coop, I will for her lol.

Gave in and checked my shipped eggs last night and even though they were just set the 4th a lot of them are showing development. I know it's really too early to even check them, but the suspense was killing me

OK re checked my eggs 13 from my own chickens and 16 shipped and 24 are showing good development. One has a meat spot, and one has a cracked so those 2 I expect to quit before too long, but right now 24 eggs are going strong

Wow you guys have been slow. I've been gone two and a half weeks and there were only 155 posts for me to read through. I like the bordeaux styro bator Oz, you crazy genius (I especially like the part about "as a fully aware chicken man". That made me giggle.

Had to put my turkey down. He became laterally recumbant. That was a greusome job as I had to slit his throat rather than cervically dislocate his spine (I definitely don't have the strength for that), but I made the knife really sharp and cut through his cervical vertebrae very quickly. The greusome part was that, where I usually have traffic zooming past my house, they were fixing the bridge right by my house and they had put a light there, so traffic was backed way up past my house for that light. I had a captive audience for the whole thing. Hope there were no PETA members sitting there.

I had gotten hurt a few weeks back, so I wasn't able to sell or ship hatching eggs and I got backed up with about 7 dozen eggs. We ate one pack of 18 but I set all the rest. I figured that many of them were well over two weeks old and so I would have a bunch of clears and blood rings. Well, I ended up only having to toss seven of them. I am going to have to build a larger brooder.

Up to snapping turtle number four that I've pulled out of my pond so far. They're all the same age, probably from the same hatch. I pulled three really big ones out of the pond last year, these must be their offspring. I won't let the kids go swimming in there until I know that there are no snappers left.

Snappers make good soup.
You can also probably find herp people in your area that may take them.

I was trying to catch up but getting through 100 messages on a phone with my Internet connection is a two day affair.

We are busy at CocoBeach. I have done AI on the three oldest gilts.

The chickens are doing well. I am now advertising on olx.com.ph and have lots of inquiries. I will be shipping 12 birds this week and at least that many next week.

I will also be building a 600 egg incubator.

yeah my great aunt lost most of a toe to a huge snapping turtle a few years ago. they are great pets.....for zoo's

OMG this is why NO MATTER WHO we purchase from we have to use ozexpat letter to egg shippers and request how we want them shipped! good grief!

i know it was wrong of me to assume they knew what i wanted. I'm so spoiled to how everyone else ships their egg's i didn't give it a second thought and it may have just cost me a pretty penny.

I have chicks due today or tomorrow, I heard chirping last night, guess I better go see LOL! Its freezing in the house this morning with every window open! I just wanted coffee and bundle up with my four springers and a big cup of java! lol

i had two wrong end pipers one died in the shell and started to stink so i opened and then threw the egg away (it piped though a vein on the first try) but the other while it did need help out of the shell is healthy and loud

on a sad end though i candled and i don't see and veins on the turkey egg's and my dog knocked over my incubator trying to get into the ducklings brooder so i am down to 4 turkey egg's i'm not going to toss any egg's until next week i hope something makes it.
