Sally, when are you guys vacationing down here in Ocracoke again? There is this wonderful place to bring kids (assuming you would be bringing the kids and the grandbabies). Its called Aurora Fossil Mine and its completely free (there is a gift shop but you can completely ignore it). You and the kids can sift through some sand and find a ton of sharks teeth. I love bringing the kids there, you get to ride on the ferry and it keeps them occupied for a solid three hours before they even begin to lose focus, plus I love looking for sharks teeth myself. There are also two ice cream parlors and a pizza place there. Thats about ALL there IS there but its very much a good time. Plus, you have to go past Oriental to get there, so there is the option of Kayak rental or an ecotour and really good restaurants if you need a little bit of culture.

We wont be for some time, unless I can find a house with kennels! like a bunch of them! lol is it on Ocracoke? I dont remember it, we always rent on the island, since I am way too old to bear that heat in the summer, not to mention the bugs!

Good info on "Types" of selenium and what response chickens have... You may need to login using facebook or some other social media....

Good Morning.......

..... I need a little help.... About 3 or 4 days ago, or so, someone posted a chart that had nutritional deficiencies vs. embryonic mortality/physiological deformities and descriptions (in days) and chick developmental issues (in days)...

I thought I saved it .... I know I saved it.....

I can't find it and I been looking all day yesterday and this AM...

Maybe, I thought I saved it....

.... I've looked through several threads too...

And I promise I will delete all my obsolete favorites....

Thanks everyone......

The chart I'm thinking of had Vitamins and Minerals Deficiency listed on the left column.... I think the next column had Day Number (2-4 example) mortality in the shell (or day 11-14) ... and what the abnormality was (lungs not formed)...... Then they listed after hatch ((by day number (2-15) mortality, and what the disease or cause of death was))....

The must have CLOSELY monitored the food intake of the hen and roo and did subsequent necropsy/analysis of the embryo...

It was pretty cool to say the least.... I'm still looking....
