At what temp and humidity are you running your incubator at?

99.5 to 100 I had trouble first few days on the humidity because of that rain isaac sent up our way, its been dryer the past several days now so I am trying to keep it under 45 its been vary from 30 to 45 its really hard to control I am finding... I want a set it and forget it bator!!

YAYAYAY!!!! pics pics pics!!!! I need to keep my mind of my puppies coming! I am really scared to do this, when I was young I didnt think twice, now I am older and ugggggg I hate getting old!!! I am a worry wart!!!

The difference between us young and us old is that we know too much now. She will be fine and soon you will have your hand full of squirmy pups that want to chew on everything they can get their mouths on...oh wait that is my pup.

You can search the buy sell trade section here on BYC to see if there are any breeders in the PA area that are close to you that will allow you to visit and check out the quality of their birds that they sell. Or craigslist or ebay. Your hatch rate will more often be better plus you can actually see what you are getting.

I incubate at 100 degrees and around 35 to 40 % humidity for the first 18 days. For the last 3 days I bump the humidity up to 65 to 70%. I also have 2 thermostats/ hydrometer in my bator. You can check out the thread for dry incubation in the learning section on the site. The only thing is that you have to check the air sac more closely and adjust humidity accordingly.

For the 8 eggs that you have it is pretty much a guessing game. Try to find out when the guy collected the eggs and when he put them under a light. It could have been that the hen was laying a clutch but never started to set on them, but when he put them under the light the temperature from it could have been close enough to start developement of the embryos. That should give you a general time frame for when you should stop turning them and put them in lockdown.

Will check with him, he seems to keep track of eggs and he couldnt figure out why rate was down lol! a few looked clear but the darker ones had a nice size growth in there, eggs are dark so its hard to see too. I read that article and I am trying to do what you suggest as far as temps and humid, that weather at first is what was throwing me a curve ball, the dehumidifier was runnin nonstop, heck now its not even on!! and then when you run the dehumid the room gets about ten degress hotter too! lol thanks tons!!

least its flying right!!! I love that icon reminds me of my kids when I try to make them eat potatoes... What kids dont eat potatoes? MINE weird kids let me tell ya!!! not even FFs!!!

Did you lower the temp a bit for hatch day?
What is your humid ranging from and did u add sponges or wha?

Actually I forgot the roast...it was a sonic drive thru kind of night.

Didn't touch the temp. It has been staying 99-100. filled the water channels on the bottom with tap hot water. Then I added 2 damp wash cloths but I ended up taking them out because the humidity went too high. so removed them. The humidity with just the channels full has been 65-75%. It shoots way up when an egg hatches.
