Well I set my detached air cell eggies today...checked two of them and nothing had re-attached, but I wasn't really expecting much since it had only been 24 hrs. I have them in their own bator, sitting upright in an egg turner that is not turned on. I'm planning to leave them unturned for at least the first 7 days and then when I candle check the air cells and see if anything recovered. Should be interesting. The two that I think were ok went into a separate bator with my other eggs that had good air cells. Woo!

Ok so you will candle in a week right? what are u keeping temp and humid at?

Eggs arrived yesterday and were popped into the bator last night .... aaaaaaaggggghhhhhhhhhh ..... I didn't know how stressful this could be when you've paid for beautiful shipping eggs .... lol

You had your 7 day candle right?

Going to candle everyone at the next turning since I have a few that I think are dead. also going to see if I can get some straws to work for water.

NOTES: (sorry I forgot to share this!!)

Below is a pic of what I had to rig INSTEAD of using the wells in the bottom of the bator, I had a hard time getting humidity correct, so I started using different size containers and caps for water holding, I could easily remove replace as necessary, small if it was too high and bigger ones if it was too low! It WORKS WELL and I can keep them clean and sanitized better and not mess with my eggs! I will use those wells at lockdown.

Temp is 101.5 at the top of the eggs, thermometer at the egg rack level says 99 so I think I'm in the ballpark (this is an LG Still air). I'm keeping humidity at 35-42% or so. I don't know, do you think I should have the humidity higher??

I open BYC at my subscription page. When I click on a subscription title, it takes me to the first unread post. I don't have to hit any other buttons -- this works on all my subscriptions -- I only had to hit that button on the graphic once. Huh. Maybe it was some other setting -- ?

Loved the idea about little containers of water. Might employ that next time I decided to make myself insane...I mean hatch eggs.
