2nd pallet coop build today all the way to the ply on the roof!
Not bad for a few hours of work!

Of course a rope...hmmmmm

Do you put in 4x4 support posts or anything extra for support and stability. With the wind we have not sure something like that would make it here.

Nope nothing, skids are heavy as sin! and then add all that plywood flooring and plywood roof PLUS shingles, then exterior siding and doors and windows and chickens and chickens and even more chickens LOL this coop we shortened to 8 feet long so we could save on plywood and siding. I am documenting every step this time with pics since so many asked me about it, and its fun! The "Hinkel Haus" documentary Lmao

You could easily send some concrete self tap screws through into the concrete block use those concrete round foundation forms and pour concrete and settle rebar with brackets to screw into.

Love it! I am thinking of doing my breeder pens like this. I was trying to decide what to do for the bottom/foundation. It looks like the cinderblocks will work really well...

yup block, he wanted to dig the back in to make level but I didnt want to hit my head onthe roof!! this one is only one cinder high and our other coop is two high.... I suggest two high, its a great place for them to go under and dust if you throw some de sand and peat moss under!

BRB I have some cool breeder pens to show you!! so clean and simple I LOVE THEM.....

Check these out!!

THEY LOOK CLEAN AND CUTE!! and EASY PEASY!!!

I see like 10 of these in a row painted old barn red and silver tarps with some custom signage!! PLUS I already have a grometer!

Ok now those would make awesome breeder pens! I do think I want to put a couple tractors together because I'm adding a couple breeds that like to free range and I'm too nervous to just let them loose around here...too many predators (snakes, alligators, wild hogs, possum, raccoon, neighbor's dogs, birds of prey, etc etc etc!).

I know! and how cheap and easy!! and using 2x3's instead and they make that cheaper T1 11 at lowes now!!

I could make them so freakin neat looking!!!

I like the idea, not as tractors per say but just a bunch in a nice line side by side so that the flock still is sorta social and everything is in its place, I see a small storage shed nearby for easy access for feeding and such... I fell in love with these!!!
