I got Harmony a hot water heater thermostat off ebay, so we are going to do the one on the videos that I posted to you... and two cheap computer fans and I have all the other stuff already..

Dad is gonna do it with her he says, tomorrow, her eggs are due to come MONDAY she shipped them today!!!!

so I will post pics of it, plus there is a wiring diagram in that thread. I saved it on my laptop somewhere lol

Just got 14 eggs in the mail, 12 have detached air cells.

I am setting them upright and praying for some of them to make it. They are bantam cochin eggs. Sometimes i hate to Post Office.

Good luck. Leave them upright with no turning for 24-48 hrs. Then do a very gentle tilt. Not sure if you have read any of Sally's info. She has done a lot of compiling.

The only problem with driving is I would have to ask my parents to drive me and my friend with the bator lives like an hour away... Maybe I'll fix up my old one, build a few new different designs, and I'll ask my friend again when I can get the bator.... I have some much closer neighbors with super accurate bators that they used to use all the time but aren't using right now cause a) it's winter and b) they got a silkie hen.... Maybe I should ask them...?

Oh and I have a question... I have a 2 or 3 week old baby silkie and I wondered when I could start taking her for short trips outside and then introduce her to my 3 1/2 month old chickens and duck? And when can she start living out there permanently? It's getting fairly cold down here too so that's probably a set-back..

oh borrow! cool

Okay I've decided to just give up on any new incubators. I cleaned my old one to the point and I'm warming it up right now. I'll ask a neighbor for some eggs to throw in today or tomorrow ... What sort of eggs would be best for a homemade incubator prone to temp fluctuations? I can either get bantams, normal chicken eggs, or ducks..
