This is the only pic I have so far ... I put it back in the bator to keep warm til I can get to town to get food (wasnt really expecting any of the quail eggs to hatch ) and a new heat lamp bulb mine blew sometime last night ... The little thing probably isnt as big as a quarter ....

Do they eat starter crumbles? wonder if these serama I just put in the bator eat the chick crumbles since so small ????????????????

Serama Eggs ~ Throwing OUT the weighing AND the marking of the air cells!! Toooo much thinking involved with that!!!

on a serious note ~ our first 11 serama eggs in the bator yesterday...... getting another doz monday for the other bator as these have alot of rolling air cells. SHIPPED eggs


Quick tips on incubating these? 99.5 with 40/45% humidity until day 18? then up to 60/65% ?

So far I have read that DRY INCUBATION METHODS dont work for serama or smaller bantams.....
sooooo I think I will do the 40/45% humidity until day 18, then up to 60/65% I hope this is right, I asked in a serama thread I found, we shall see what replys I get, in the meantime I will hold to the above.....

FOr some reason my inucbators stay low even when filled up to the last minute but my chicks usually do okay thank god .... I have 13 silkies in that are due to start hatching today so hoping to get the little guy out before they start .... my sister says here quail ate started crumbles but hes so tiny i havent tried ..

Another one of the bumblebee lol thats its name and I have one silkie out !!!!! YAY !!! just hoping it doesnt hurt the other quail eggs still in there cause it playing godzilla good and is too wet to take out yet !!!

It is as cute as a button! But I want more pics! Can you put it next to something like a coin so we can see exactly how small it is? I've never seen a new born quail chick before. Am going broody again LOL
