you got silkies?? or another really puffy headed polish ( a bird that cant see to well) that would be a good house mate for her. My Peepers stayed in the hen house away from others unless they also needed to be away from the pack a bit (how I ended up with him having babies). He also took in new chicks and played mama to them. But for now try just one that is smaller than her, ONCE her bleeding has stopped and is scabbed up pretty good.
I have the black and gold cross beak polish in the last post that was attacked. The bleeding stopped several days ago. I have 1 other polish pullet but don;t think she's a good fit with our cross beak. When I was at the feed store this morning, they had a silkie bantam that was 3 weeks old that I bought. When I put the 2 together, the silkie starting treating my cross beak like a momma hen would (I suspect) and crossbeak seemed to eat more. ??? I'll keep an eye on them.
