Can anyone confirm the effectiveness of DE in feed for worming? I've read putting some in feed once a month is an effective all around worming treatment. Any truth to that?

I'm a believer in FGDE in the coop to help with keeping mites away, but I would never feed it to my chickens, nor would I sprinkle them with it. My only evidence of it working in the coop is that I haven't had mites ever. But only been chickening for 4 years. If I saw mites or lice on my chickens, and I regularly check, I would bring out the big guns. I'd use Pyrethrin. As for worms internally, I haven't dealt with that either. I say, don't treat unless you have a problem. I would be afraid of creating some sort of resistant bug by treating prophylactically.

DE does NOT treat worms. It's not effective against a mite/lice infestation either. It is, however, dangerous to the respiratory system in both animals, and humans, so not worth the risk.
