Diatomaceous Earth question

I am just now finishing building my new coop and have added 4, 50 lb bags of playsand in it on the floor. How much diatomaceous earth should I mix into it? I have purchased a 5 lb bag of the food grade stuff to use, but have no idea how much to mix in there. Thanks so much from a newbie!

The DE bag should have how many square feet it covers. I can't say how much I use because I place it in a sifter and put a fine layer and mix it in.

I'd probably use about half of it unless you see that it is covering well. The chickens will mix it up.
Save some for nest boxes, roosts and chickens.

Awesome, thanks! The bag is a repackeged bag with permission from the original company. It has no instructions on it. I will use half and remember to dust the nesting boxes and perch as well. I was hoping I had enough.....
