I am new to this and I am trying to find out where to buy the correct type of Diatomaceous Earth to use for my chickens? I looked it up on Tractor Supply, it showed a few options, so being as I do not know what I am looking for I need help please? I know it should be food grade. And suggestions? Thanks

Hello, I'm glad you asked this question about DE as I was wondering the same thing. I also have looked at Tractor Supply and I did NOT see the words "food grade" on the bag. I've heard (either here or on YouTube) that DE should be white not gray. I'll be checking back to see if you got any answers because I also want to know... Kay in NC... 8.15.15

The color of DE may not determine whether it is "food grade" or not. The type of deposit it came from will help to determine color.

There are two types of DE...Food Grade and Pool Grade. It should say on the bag whether or not it is indeed food grade. So check the bag before purchase. Most feed stores are going to carry only the Food Grade knowing you are going to use this around livestock and not pools, but don't guess, look carefully at the bag.
