Diatomaceous earth

Is the pool kind the same as the kind that can be used for chickens?. I've been looking for Diatomaceous earth and my local Tractor Supply does not carry it. I looked on line and it cost moe to shipp than the product. I thought if it's the same I could get some at a local pool supply place.

Unfortunately they are not the same thing.
You need to get "Food Grade"

You can try a local garden/nursery...they may carry it. Also, check with local feed stores. Often, even if they don't have any in stock, they can order it for you if you ask. Do make sure it's food grade no matter where you get it from. The shipping charges are ridiculous for a product like that.
