Sorry peeps, but many well meaning flock keepers are passing along lots of information that has been passed on to them that was once believed to be true but has since been shown not to be. Unfortunately, this refers to much of what's been passed along about DE. One well known blogger, the Chicken Chick, used to be a huge supporter of DE but has since revised her opinion. Go to her page and check out what she has to say.DE is best used either in the food or in the bedding. It's great to put in nests as it kills parasites which annoy hens. If you feed it to them, it worms them.

I guess what I've learned is it really is important to do your own research and seek out the experts and not accept just one blogger's word as gospel, no matter how sincere.
There will also be those who will stubbornly swear something works, no matter what the solid evidence to the contrary.
